Tonight’s aperitif: raw La Mancha goat’s milk.
Some nights, we get a little of the milk that’s left over from the previous milking – if it’s too little to start a whole new bucket.
We used to drink a glass of milk with meals as a kid, and I do like the flavor. I always crave a glass with warm chocolate desserts.
I stopped drinking cow’s milk in a glass years ago because it upset my belly, and also it’s not that appealing. I am far from a locavore or even a vegetarian, but industrial milk seems so so gross. Soy has its pros and cons, too, I know. And I will use cream in my coffee, so I’ll stay off a soap box. I’m just saying that, this milk I’m drinking now? I live on the farm where the goats are raised in amazing conditions, milked with extraordinary effort and the milk is obsessively kept clean of contaminants.
So…Cheers!
